I just updated my Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Android phone. After that, I could not open any contact, I always got an error message like:<\/p>\n

“The application infinite view (process com.sonyericsson.infiniteview) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

As I failed to find a solution with Google, I called Sony Ericsson. They answered quickly and were able to assist me to fix the problem. I was very positively surprised! Now my payback is to make this solution Googlable.<\/p>\n

To fix the problem:<\/p>\n

  1. Go to Contacts.<\/li>\n
  2. Choose “Back up contacts” from menu.<\/li>\n
  3. Backup to SD card.<\/li>\n
  4. Go to Settings\/Applications\/Manage applications, select “All” tab.<\/li>\n
  5. Clear all data from “Contacts” and “Contacts Storage” applications.<\/li>\n
  6. Go back to Contacts.<\/li>\n
  7. Click “Done”, don’t import anything, you’ll have an empty phonebook now.<\/li>\n
  8. Choose “Import contacts” from menu.<\/li>\n
  9. Choose “One vCard” or something like that.<\/li>\n
  10. Choose the file you backed up the contacts to.<\/li>\n
  11. Choose “Filter” from menu.<\/li>\n
  12. Choose “Phone contact”.<\/li>\n
  13. Tick “All contacts”.<\/li>\n
  14. It should work again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    That was actually the second method we tried. The first one was to remove and re-create Facebook accounts to the phone. So, if the above doesn’t work for you, try clearing the Facebook accounts.
